About the Communication Zone

We have many different ways of transferring information, but we don’t usually know how all these communication systems work, or who is behind their design, development and maintenance.

This zone looks at all the different ways we communicate with each other, from texting a friend to instructing a satellite which orbit to take.

There is one engineer looking at unlimited wireless networks, and another one developing cable vessels. There are two engineers looking at how machines communicate with each other; and another one designing silicon chips to record and play video on mobile phones.

You can find out more about the engineers in this zone, and what they work on by reading their profiles. Click on their names at the top of this page to find out more!
