I’m still doing my PhD, but it revolves around how you design a wireless network so that interference between the users is kept to a minimum. There are simple ways to do it like giving each user a time slot or a set of frequencies that only they get to use, but when the number of users gets large this becomes very inefficient. It’s actually better to let them transmit more than what he network can handle, then use some clever maths to separate the signals. My research is on how to plan the network so that this separation can be done.
