      Hi,

It’s easy to get into arguments here – so I’ll be cheeky and see if I can start one.

Biology is mostly based on chemistry.
Chemistry only works because of the bonds between atoms etc – so it depends on physics.
Astronomy is looking at what happens as lots of particles interact – physics again.

Physics is what it boils down to – and within that, it’s all the 4 forces that everything else depends on – sub atomic this, quantum that. If we could just work out how those 4 forces – gravity, electromagnetic, weak and strong atomic forces link together, we could have a theory of everything.

All that depends on maths of course.

I’d agree with Rik – Physics is applied Maths, Chemistry is an application of Physics and Biology is an application of Chemistry.

None of which are as fun as engineering! 🙂

The most important thing to remember is that you’re probably wrong and your ideas aren’t quite finished! And that’s totally alright, as long as you don’t get precious about your ideas and are willing to listen to your boss or colleagues.
