Never for very long. Some days I look out of the window and want to ben outside doing something – but there are of course engineering jobs that spend time outdoors, live civil engineering. Other times I’ve wondered about more artistic things – photography appealed for a while – but I don’t think I’d be good enough, and I think I’d get bored in the real world. There are only so many times you want to photograph a wedding.

I’ve worked with fashion designers, animators, cinematographers, sound recordists, product designers, textile designers, so I’ve seen how creative the stuff I do as an engineer turns out to be – I’ve been able to dabble in more fields than if I’d chosen any one of those on their own. I’d the chances are, I’m more financially secure.

      Never.

I feel really fortunate to be doing something as a job that I’d probably do for fun in my spare time (though don’t tell my boss!).

If I wasn’t an engineer I’d probably be unemployed! 🙂
