  Hi – I’ve been on the same project now for 2-3 years, building a video encoder. It’s been tough keeping it small enough to fit on the part we have available, and to deliver it on time.

  Designing a 6m high stand with chutes to hold a 40t machine to pull pipe and cable onto a merchant navy vessel. We have now produced a 60t stand and are about to install it next month!

  The most challenging project I’m involved with at the moment is the redesign of the course I am in charge of at Sheffield Hallam! We are updating stuff to make it even more relevant to what employers and students want to see – but this involves complex negotiations with all the other academics involved in the course – which is like herding cats! 😉
