Hi – I’m afraid I don’t really want to say how much I earn, but we pay from about 33,000 for someone out of university to a few times that at the top end.
Somewhere in th 40,000 would be reasonable for an experienced engineer i guess.

As a PhD I don’t get paid as much as my friends who are practicing engineers, and even between them their salaries vary because of the industries they’re in. I’d expect a graduate to be getting £25-30k after a few years in the job if their jobs don’t ask too many specialist skills or training of them.

Reed employment agency reckon the average salary for engineers is about £35,000.

We see our graduates leaving university to earn somewhere around £23,000 six months after graduation (which I think is a really good starting salary), though as Rik says with 5-10 years worth of experience £35-40,000 would be a reasonable expectation.

The last I read was that engineering graduates get £26k, after that it’s up to you. if you patent a unique design, the sky’s the limit. In general, they are on a par with most professional careers
