      Hi,
I can’t really claim much of it has been important, but some of it has been useful.

I recently spent quite a bit of time helping to define a new way of compressing video so we can send better pictures over the Internet. I hope that turns out to be important because it could save a lot of money moving information around.

I can’t say I ever invented something important (especially not on my own), but I have been part of team working on fault diagnosis and prevention for aircraft engines aiming to detect faults as they develop but before they become a problem.
